Sean Stewart took his parents by surprise when he proposed to and married Jody Weintraub on Valentine's Day.

Rod Stewart's son Sean Stewart got engaged—and married—all in the span of a day.

The singer's eldest son proposed to his girlfriendJody Weintraub, the daughter of late film producer Jerry Weintraub, on Valentine's Day during a Las Vegas trip. According to PEOPLE, the couple immediately headed to the courthouse to obtain a marriage license, having their nuptials shortly after.

"Sean asked her while they were out to dinner at Catch. They married shortly after getting their marriage license at 10 p.m. at the Little Church of the West," a source close to the newlyweds told the outlet.

The source added that Sean called his mother Alana Stewart before marrying Weintraub, but "it took her a minute to really know if he was serious or not." But when Sean sent her pictures and videos of the ceremony, his mother was "so so happy for him."

As for Rod, the singer was reportedly "so happy to hear the news" about his son's marriage.

Alana confirmed the news with an Instagram post, captioned, "Congratulations to my boy @seanstewart and his beautiful bride @jody_weintraubstewart who surprised us all with a spur of the moment Las Vegas wedding. I'm so happy for you both! ❤️"

One of the pictures features the newlyweds sitting together at dinner with another showing Sean and Jody posing for a family shot next to Rod.

This will not be the newly-wedded couple's only marriage ceremony. They are reportedly planning to have a traditional wedding in the summer at Marbella Beach Club in Spain.

Jody was previously married and has a five-year-old son named Doc. Sean and Jody's son reportedly have a great dynamic already, with a source revealing that "they go to the beach, he reads him books, he takes him to karate class, they play Magna-Tiles."
