It's never too late to change your tune, and luckily, Rod Stewart is "Forever Young."

The legendary rockstar, who has spent the last six decades performing rock music, is now planning to step away from the rock 'n' roll scene—but he's not retiring just yet.

The 78-year-old musician is just looking to switch things up, and he recently revealed his intentions of tapping into a whole new genre.

"I'm not retiring but I want to move on," Stewart stated in an interview with BBC Breakfast. "I had great success with The Great American Songbook, and I’ve just done a swing album with Jools Holland, which is going to come out next year, so I want to go in that direction."

But the "Baby Jane" crooner did leave fans with a little hope that his hiatus from rock 'n' roll won't last forever, expressing that he just wants to "to leave the rock 'n' roll stuff behind, for a while."

"Everything has to come to an end sooner or later," he added, noting that he is in a "good place" about his decision.

"I'm really looking forward to doing something else, especially singing with Jools' band," said Stewart. "It borders on rock ‘n’ roll anyway, it’s just not 'Maggie May' and 'Do Ya Think I’m Sexy?'"

The entertainer is currently gearing up for the start of his U.K. tour with Boy George, who appeared alongside him during the BBC interview.

The tour kicks off on Saturday, June 24, and is expected to include stops in Northampton, Durham, Bristol and Hull.
