Many of us got our first look at Rocky Barnes when she appeared in Justin Bieber’s 2013 video for “Girlfriend,” and she’s been wowing us ever since. With her soft eyes, willowy hair, and to-die-for skin, she manages to combine girl-next-door wholesome and tropical-exotic mystique (a gift of her Hawaiian heritage, no doubt).

No wonder the beauty and fashion worlds took notice. Rocky (nee Rachel) graced the pages of GQ, Vogue, Cosmo, and Sports Illustrated’s Swimsuit Issue before graduating from model to maven. The globetrotting beauty wields her influence on social media and shares her style-centric ideas via both her blog and her “boho luxe” clothing creations.

She took a breather from her world-conquering exploits — and her duties as a new mom — to turn us on to some of the things that have been keeping her stylish and comfy at home during the pandemic.

“I feel like a lot of my products reflect ‘new mom in quarantine,’ so immediately I thought of dry shampoo,” says Barnes. “Who has time with a new baby to wash their hair?” Yep, especially when Tresemme’s volumizing formula can keep her locks as lush and bouncy as if she’d just stepped out of the salon. “It smells amazing, and I can go four or five days with it,”she testifies. “It’s like a girl’s dream come true!”

When her son, Jonah, outgrew his Doona stroller, Barnes upgraded to this next-level perambulator. And who can blame her? It’s awesome!

“We use it for going on walks around our neighborhood, which is as ‘outdoorsy’ as we can do right now,” she says. And she’s as amazed as we are by its Transformer-like adaptability: “You can use it as a stroller right now, then as he gets older it will evolve into a trike that he can pedal himself.” Another reason to get one? You’ll get to throw around the word “perambulator.”

With many of us spending sooo much time at home with our significant others and looking for options that are both cozy and catch-as-catch-can, Barnes’ “kind of unisex” loungewear line is downright genius — and gorgeous. This Golden Hour robe is available in three multi-hued combos. “It’s not your typical white bathrobe,” she says. “It’s a real fun pop of colors, and you can really wear it inside and outside.”

How ‘bout some earth-tone jammies to complete your chillaxing ensemble? Rocky’s got you covered!

“I’m obsessed with the color-block,” she says. “They’re made out of a really amazing linen blend, so it has a little bit of weight to it.”

And they’re stylish enough for pairing or going it alone, alfresco or behind closed doors. “I wear the top just with a pair of jeans, it’s super cozy,” she says. Staying housebound? Well, she adds, “You can throw the robe on, and it’s kind of like your perfect quarantine uniform.”

Quarantining doesn’t mean you can’t feel like you’re basking in the sun with the sand between your toes.

“This smells like a vacation we didn’t take this year,” she says of Le Paradis’s Bora Bora candle. With the tropical flora it evokes, she adds, “the sensory experience is so triggering that you can kind of close your eyes and envision that you’re there...you can really have a full escape moment.” Take us away!
