Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson Is Already Wearing TAG Heuer’s New Monaco Night Driver

Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson is clearly keeping up with the hottest new horological releases.

The multihyphenate hosted College Gameday on Saturday wearing a TAG Heuer timepiece that was only released two days prior. The Ballers star showed off the new Monaco Chronograph Night Driver as he commentated on the match between the Colorado Buffaloes and Colorado State Rams in Boulder, Colorado. The Buffaloes pulled out a nail-biting victory but the Rock’s timepiece was the real star of the Rocky Mountain Showdown.

The Night Driver pays homage to Formula 1’s favorite night race. Limited to just 600 pieces, the exclusive model was released on September 14, just before the 2023 Singapore Grand Prix. It isn’t reserved for racing fans, though. The Swiss watchmaker says it is “the perfect companion for anyone who enjoys the thrills of a nighttime drive.”

To that end, the timepiece features a cool, light gray dial that transforms into a glowing vivid blue at night by harnessing the capabilities of Super-LumiNova. The chronograph registers also turn the same glowing blue, while the minutes, hours, and indexes are finished in contrasting black for added visibility. Even the hash marks that indicate the minutes and seconds shine brightly, so you can take more precise readings.

Beyond its dial, the watch features a 39 mm square-shaped dial crafted from black DLC-coated Grade 5 titanium and an in-house Calibre Heuer 02 that can be clearly spotted through the sapphire case back. The movement’s 80-hour power reserve can keep the timepiece running over the whole race weekend. Rounding out the design is a black perforated calfskin strap with light-gray stitching and a robust black titanium folding clasp.

The Monaco isn’t the first TAG Heuer the Rock has rocked, of course. The actor, producer, and retired professional wrestler wore an Aquaracer dive watch to this year’s Oscars. Perhaps we should add TAG Heuer enthusiast to his long list of titles.
