After talking about it for years, Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson finally landed the role he always wanted in 2019, announcing on Instagram that he will be playing the lead role in DC's upcoming Black Adam movie. It's a character that has been close to his heart since childhood; while he loved Superman, he identified more with the rebellious but equally powerful Black Adam.

And now Johnson has started getting into character, preparing to shoot the move this summer in the most on-brand way possible: by hitting the gym. "So it begins," he wrote in an Instagram post last night. "Kickin’ off 2020 training extremely hard for my upcoming role as BLACK ADAM. This one’s in my blood."

He followed this up with a series of gym pics showing off his arm day routine and gains. In the caption for each of these images, Johnson teased that a "new era" is about to begin, and said that "the hierarchy of power in the #DCUniverse is about to change."

You don't have to be prepping for a blockbuster movie like The Rock or imbued with superpowers like Black Adam to get the most out of your arm day. Johnson maximizes his gains not by simply piling on the plates, but by perfecting his posture and form to get the most value out of every single rep.
