Rock Creek masonic lodge hosts open house

Apr. 25—ROCK CREEK — People interested in the history and future of Triandria Masonic Lodge #780 are invited to an open house Saturday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

"The event promises a rare opportunity to delve into the history of one of Rock Creek's longstanding institutions. The lodge, at 3059 Lawton Avenue, will open its doors for tours, fellowship, free food, and an enriching exploration of Masonic values," said Hendrik Wolfert, junior warden of the lodge.

Wolfert said the tours will include information regarding the architectural significance of the building and an understanding of the inner workings and symbolism of Freemasonry.

"One of the highlights of this event is the opportunity to learn about the lodge's extensive philanthropic efforts," Wolfert said.

He said the efforts include high school scholarships, assistance to families in need and support of local initiatives.

He said the event also marks the creation of a DeMolay youth organization that builds leadership skills and character in young men 12 to 21.

"Families are encouraged to join us at the open house to learn more about this empowering initiative and how youth can benefit," Wolfert said.

He said the event will also allow interaction with club members and to learn about potential lodge membership.
