A Rochester home of marble, the 'Marble Lago,' carries a regal look

Apr. 24—ROCHESTER — Atop one of the Pill Hill neighborhood's hills, a home is encased in marble.

The 2,394-square-foot home has white and black marble throughout the rooms, floors and exterior elements. The home has more than 20 types of marble, including types imported from Europe, according to the Keller-Williams Premier Realty listing. It's a regal look that extends to the outdoor grilling area and a private driveway with marble chips, which wraps from Ninth Street Southwest.

The original home featuring wood was built in 1930. The three-bedroom and three-bathroom home at 902 14th Ave. SW is listed at $849,000.

"This architectural masterpiece features the perfect balance of original art deco style and modern day features to create a new age of Great Gatsby glamour," the listing stated about the home in Rochester, which is a quarter of a mile from the Plummer House. "From entertaining, to relaxing after a long day, or just pure luxury living, living here is so gorgeous, it will make you feel almost surreal."

On the main level, the stark marble choices reign in almost every room. There is also a sauna, smart home features including a smart toilet, and four fireplaces throughout the home. A small neon sign in the basement reading "Marble Lago" plays on former President Donald Trump's Mar-a-Lago home.

Marble is also featured in Mayo Clinic's downtown buildings, such as the Gonda Building and the Plummer Building. The
