Robin Wright confirms where she stands with former husband Sean Penn.

Don't expect a romantic reunion between Sean Penn and Robin Wright any time soon.

While the former flames may've been photographed by paparazzi together for the first time since 2017, Wright, 56, has set the record straight on her current relationship with Penn, 62.

“We were going to an event for our children,” Wright told E! News, referring to their kids Dylan, 31, and Hopper, 29. She added, “We’re always going to be a family, whether we’re together or apart, you know, and I think that’s beautiful and I wish that for everybody.”

For those who may need a refresher, the duo finalized their divorce in 2010 after being married for 14 years. The couple, who first got together in 1989, has since moved on, as Penn went on to marry Leila George in 2020 and Wright wed Clément Giraudet in 2018. However, both actors have split from their respective spouses, with Penn finalizing his divorce in April 2022 and Wright filing for divorce that same year.

This, however, does not mean a reunion is in Penn and Wright's future. In fact, a source close to the former Hollywood pair also confirmed to People that though Penn and Wright have been spending more time together lately, they are not planning to rekindle their romance.

“They are both single right now and get along great,” the source told People. “Sean has always said that Robin is the love of his life. He regrets many things that happened during their marriage. He really enjoys spending time with her now.”

Wright had previously opened up to Telegraph about her tumultuous on-and-off relationship with Penn, explaining that one of the reasons they “got back together and broke up so much was trying to keep the family together."

"If you’ve got kids, it’s a family," she added, "and you try again, and you try again.”
