Robin Roberts Shares Health Update for Fiancée Amber Laign Following Breast Cancer Treatment

Robin Roberts first revealed that longtime partner Amber Laign was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2021.

Robin Roberts comes baring good news about her fiancée Amber Laign's breast cancer journey.

After first revealing that Laign was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2021, Roberts has been keeping her fans up to date on the treatment process, which has been more complicated than they anticipated.

After struggling with chemotherapy complications last April, Laign later completed radiation in July, which the Good Morning America anchor celebrated with an Instagram post at the time.

Since then, Roberts, 62, says Laign has been on the mend, telling Entertainment Tonight's Rachel Smith that her longtime partner is doing okay now.

"It was a rough year; her journey with breast cancer took some unexpected twists and turns but she is doing really really well," the TV broadcaster stated. "Doctors said when it comes to treatment, it's like women and shoes—they don't always fit—and so they had to find the right fit for her with treatment."

She also said that the prognosis is "excellent" for Laign, who is "ready to start a new chapter as well."

Lucky for them, the couple—who has been together since 2005—has the perfect next chapter to focus on: a wedding!

"I'm saying yes to marriage. We're getting married this year," Roberts announced on GMA earlier this year, as Parade previously reported. "It was something we had talked about, but we had put it off, she became ill, but it is saying yes to that, and that next chapter."
