Robert De Niro revealed his family has grown to include a seventh little bundle of joy.

In a new interview with ET Canada, the 79-year-old actor casually announced the birth of his youngest child while discussing his parenting style and his latest film, About My Father, which is set to release later this month.

The discussion came about after De Niro was asked what his method of parenting looks like, to which he described a balance of "being loving with [his] kids" and having "to be stern about stuff."

"I mean, there's no way around it with kids. I don't like to have to lay down the law and stuff like that. But, [sometimes] you just have no choice," he explained. "And any parent, I think, would say the same thing. You always want to do the right thing by the children and give them the benefit of the doubt, but sometimes you can't."

But when the interviewer when to ask more specifically about his home life, saying, "I know you have six kids," The Irishman producer issued a real-time correction.

"Seven, actually," De Niro said before confessing, "I just had a baby."

De Niro’s reps later confirmed to the outlet that the Raging Bull star is now a father of seven, although other details–like the newborn's name and who the mother is–remain unclear.

In addition to his latest addition, De Niro's family includes five adult children and one tween. The actor shares his adopted daughter Drena and son Raphael with ex-wife Diahnne Abbott, twin sons Julian and Aaron with ex Toukie Smith, and son Elliot and daughter Helen with ex-wife Grace Hightower.

De Niro's upcoming film, About My Father, is said to be based loosely on the actor's life and is set to hit theaters on Friday, May 26.
