Rob Gronkowski is fulfilling his true destiny: becoming an action movie hero.

Gronk, the larger-than-life, too-big-to-tackle tight end for the New England Patriots, is apparently joining the cast of BOSS LEVEL, an action thriller starring Frank Grillo and Mel Gibson. Plot summary: “Grillo will play a retired special forces veteran who becomes trapped in a never-ending loop that results in his death every day.” (Not unlike being a Cleveland Browns fan, am I right, folks? Tip your waitresses.)

Anyway, Gronk is following in the footsteps of guys like Howie Long and Brett Favre in going Hollywood, a place where you can get a lot of money but no penalty flags for committing violence onscreen. And hey, if his work is even half as good as Brian Bosworth’s in “Stone Cold,” we’re all in for a cinematic treat.

Get on it, Gronk.
