How this Roald Dahl-branded children's bath and body range could be the secret to a better night's sleep
For sisters-in-law Julia Yule and Christina Moss, the decision to launch Bloom and Blossom in 2010 was, rather simply, because they were both pregnant and couldn’t find gentle yet effective oils and balms for their skin. So they developed their own.
What followed was a beautiful range of baby products, and now that Julia and Christina’s kids are at school, there’s something for that age, too. Not a duo to do anything by halves, they’ve partnered with the Roald Dahl Estate on a new five-piece collection launching on Ocado this week, with a focus on sleep.
‘With our range, we are ultimately following our own path of motherhood,’ Julia tells me. ‘My daughter gets lots of advice at school on nutrition, which is great, but nothing on the importance of sleep.’ All full-size products are created in the UK, and the scents made in-house. The range even includes a Dream Catcher’s Pillow Spray to send you off for a good eight hours – it’s a gorgeous product for all ages.
Another British brand championing the importance of shut-eye is Neom Organics, one of my favourite bath and body brands. It has added to its carefully considered yet indulgent range a Perfect Night’s Sleep Face Oil, £42, which works hard while you snooze. As its first foray into facial skincare, this is a winning formula – the blend of 13 essentials oils helps to calm the mind while replenishing nutrients in the skin. The founder of the brand, Nicola Elliott, created the face oil on the basis that sleep is the most important ingredient for looking and feeling your best. And while it already has a bestselling range to help you sleep, This Works has just launched a new collection that encourages skin to recover from pollution overnight.
