"Riverdale" Fans Are Freaking Out Over Cole Sprouse and Lili Reinhart Walking the Met Gala 2018 Red Carpet

From "Riverdale" to red carpet.

On Monday night at the 2018 Met Gala, Riverdale stars Cole Sprouse and Lili Reinhart made their red carpet debut. While they've been on plenty of red carpets for their CW series, this is the first time that the rumored couple walked a red carpet together-together. And true to the lavish event's theme of "Heavenly Bodies: Fashion and the Catholic Imagination," fans of the Riverdale actors' onscreen romance as Jughead Jones and Betty Cooper were totally in heaven seeing them arrive to the event together.

Cole and Lili also stayed on theme with their respective outfits. Lili wore a minidress by H&M featuring a metallic silver corset-style bodice, puffy silver off-the-shoulder sleeves, and a long silver train. She completed the look with strappy silver heels, delicate silver earrings, a sleek up do, and glowy makeup. Meanwhile, Cole sported an edgy tuxedo by Thom Browne: He wore a long black overcoat over a white button-down, black bowtie, and black cropped pants. He wore shiny black dress shoes and styled his hair in a sleek combed-back coif.

Obviously, Bughead fans could barely contain their excitement over Cole and Lili walking the red carpet arm-in-arm — and over their stunning red carpet outfits. As the couple's Riverdale costar Casey Cott tweeted, correctly, "Cole and Lili look HOT." "Is there a better time to go *red carpet official* than the #metgala? No. No there is not. You go Cole Sprouse and Lili Reinhart," one fan wrote. Another person tweeted, "cole and lili at the met gala — a truly iconic duo."

There's been speculation since last year that the two are dating, but neither has officially confirmed the rumors. They've been spotted engaging in PDA more than once, however, they have dodged answering if they're actually together. As Cole said in an interview last November, "Whether you dismiss those [relationship] rumors or whether you encourage those rumors, it's giving people who are, in my opinion, are a bit entitled to your personal life more power, and you have to have spaces for reverence in the industry." The former Disney Channel actor added, "I just never talk about it because it's not anyone's right to know."

It's important to keep in mind that Lili and Cole deserve their respect and privacy. But no matter what's officially going on between the two of them, it looks like they had a great time attending the Met Gala and their fans also loved seeing them at the glamorous event. Surely a nice change from the doom and gloom in Riverdale.
