"Riverdale" and "Chilling Adventures of Sabrina" Were Set to Crossover Next Season Before "CAOS" Cancellation

Chilling Adventures of Sabrina fans are still reeling over the news that the series won't be coming for another magical season after its recent cancellation. While they still have one more part to look forward to, which also serves as the second half of season two, there's one other big thing that fans will have to say goodbye to as well.

Riverdale and Chilling Adventures of Sabrina creator Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa revealed on Twitter that season three of CAOS was going to include a Riverdale crossover called "Witch Wars."

"Thank you for all the love, #sabrinanetflix fans. Part Four is our best yet and Part Five, 'Witch War,' would’ve been AMAZING. To be continued in the pages of #CAOS comic book," he wrote.

The show previously hinted at a crossover during the last aired part when Ambrose and Sabrina headed off to Riverdale to try to find Herod's crown as part of the Unholy Regalia. Season one, part one also included a small Riverdale crossover when Ben appeared to deliver a pizza to Madame Satan.

While fans won't be able to see the shows connect on the small screen, they will still get a chance to see everything unfold in the comic book series. Based on Roberto's post, it seems like Archie, Jughead, Betty, Veronica, and Cheryl will be going head-to-head against Sabrina, Harvey, Roz, Nick, and Theo.

There's no word on when the comic book will be released, but at least fans will find out what happened to bring our two favorite neighboring towns to go against each other.
