‘Riverdale’ Actors Cole Sprouse and Lili Reinhart Just Broke Up After Two Years of Dating

We interrupt this day of celebrity birthdays and insane Bachelorette news to bring you an update about Lili Reinhart and Cole Sprouse’s relationship: The two Riverdale actors have broken up after two years of dating.

While they were both at San Diego Comic-Con this weekend to talk about their CW show, they reportedly kept their distance and were “rarely seen together.” Of course, a little space doesn’t spell a breakup, but an Us Weekly source said they overheard Cole telling a friend that he and Lili broke up, so that’s where this news is coming from. And separately, according to an E! source, they broke up earlier this summer and “are not living together this season.”

The Us source didn’t relay what else Cole said to this mystery friend, but he and Lili reportedly left the event separately. That said, Cole and Lili did have to sit together on a panel this weekend for a little bit. And just a few hours ago, Lili posted an Instagram of her sitting between Cole and their costar KJ Apa, captioning it, “Please don’t put me between these two ever again.” She probably didn’t mean anything shady by it, but it definitely feels awkward now that this news is out.

Lili and Cole started flirting with each other on Twitter back in February 2017 before People confirmed they were secretly dating in July 2017. Over the next couple years, Lili and Cole purposely kept their relationship on the DL, but everyone thought they were dating because they occasionally posted pictures of each other with captions like, “You make me very happy. Happy Valentine’s Day, my love” and “Quite actually the only thing keeping me sane is @LiliReinhart.”

Lili and Cole haven’t confirmed or denied this breakup news, but they’re pretty active on social media, so it could be coming. As of now, all their cute IGs of each other are still up, and E!’s source said, “It seems [like] they could be heading back in the direction of getting together,” so there may be some hope for all you Lili-Cole shippers.
