From Delish

Rita Ora visits Delish to play Suck It Up. She answers "Never have I ever..." questions about her love life, her brand new tequila, and her infamous fashion choices-all while eating the most sour candy you can buy.

Never have I ever surprised a fan...

Yah, of course I have-loads of times. I love surprising fans. On my tours, sometimes I go to the merch stands, and I’m like Hey!, and then everyone's like Oh my god!.

Never have I ever cut my own hair...

No, I’ve never cut my own hair.

Never have I ever been mistaken for another celebrity...

Well, yah, I have. But she’s beautiful, so I’ll take it.

Never have I ever eaten at The Cheesecake Factory...

I love The Cheesecake Factory. I love it there. I have eaten there. It’s delicious.

Never have I ever drunkenly gotten a tattoo...

Funnily enough, I haven’t. I have loads of tattoos. I've definitely gotten some of them spontaneously, but I’ve never been, like, wasted and got a tattoo. So, yah, no, I’ve never done that. Pretty mature of me-rare, but mature.

Never have I ever forgotten my lyrics...

I have actually. It’s really bad to say, but I have. But I’m not the only one. It’s very common, and I think its because you have to remember, we have to remember so many things on stage.

Never have I ever worked with my idol...

I have a few idols, and I’ve definitely worked with people that I completely and utterly admire-like Chris martin, Chad Smith from the Red Hot Chili Peppers, a bunch of people. I feel like everyone I’ve collaborated with has sort of become someone I really admire. And I know idol’s, like, a really strong word, but I kind of look at everyone like that. I appreciate art, so I’m gonna say yah to that.

Never have I ever been on a worst dressed list...

I mean, look, people that love fashion love to take risks. I love fashion. I live for fashion. I love any thing to do with being yourself: music, movies, fashion. So I have definitely been on some worst dressed lists because some people just don't understand me, but that’s absolutely fine. I’m always going to be me. I like having fun with my clothes so I have been on the worst dressed list.

Never have I ever cried on stage...

Of course I’ve cried on stage. I cry on stage all the time because I get so emotional. Because here’s the thing, right: I’ve done so many songs in my career-this is like my tenth year in this business-and over the years I’ve ventured out into so many things and done movies, and clothes, and all that stuff. But to be able to see people spend their hard-earned money on physically coming to see you, in today’s age, knowing that they can just go on Instagram and scroll down or do whatever, is such an amazing compliment. For me, I never take it for granted. So I cry a lot when I do my live shows because I just can’t believe people came out of their homes to see me, and that makes me really happy.

Never have I ever done something crazy because of tequila...

Yah, I mean, look, I don’t want to answer, so can I just take a shot?

BUY NOW Próspero Tequila Blanco, $35; reservebar.com

[Ed note: Rita Ora's tequila, Próspero, will begin shipping in mid-June. "It's smooth as a baby’s bottom! When I went to the distillery in Tequila, Mexico, and I tasted all the tequilas, I didn’t know that you could just sip. So I would just shoot, and everyone was looking at me like I was a wierdo. I was like, why is no one telling me that you should just sip on it! So by the fourth one, I couldn’t finish the tequila I was making because I was wasted, so I had to go to sleep. I woke up the next day and did it properly because I learned the hard way. So drink responsibly!"]

Never have I ever had a crush on someone I’ve worked with...

It would be a lie if I said I’ve never. I definitely have. It’s actually pretty inspiring when you have a crush on someone and you work with them on set because then you’ve just got something to, like, look at and admire while you’re working. So I definitely have. I can’t tell you who because then it would be crazy…but I have.

Never have I ever started a Twitter war...

I don’t think I have. You know, I’ve never really reacted to negative stuff, but look: I don’t know, we can go back in time and be like Rita, you’re a liar because I can’t really remember. I remember just sticking up for myself. Now, I don’t know if that's a war or just freedom of speech. I’ve definitely said some stuff on Twitter, but I did it out of like sticking up for myself.

Never have I ever been kicked out of a restaurant or bar...

I have-multiple times, actually. It’s gotten less now that, you know, I do this and I’m Rita. But anyone that knows me knows I’m an amazing partner to take out to a restaurant or a bar. I’m good fun...I feel like I’m selling myself on a dating app. But, no, I really do love going to restaurants or bars. My dad owns a pub so I’m kind of always around it. And it's usually just, like, having so much and forgetting to pay the bill or something. Its like, I go out, and then I’m like, oh my god, I forgot to pay the bill! Then they're like, get out!. So yah, I have.

Never have I ever streaked...

You know what. I don’t actually remember-or, no, I remember once I wore these smiley pants, yellow pants. I showed by butt off with the pants on, but I don’t think that means streaked because you probably have to have your butt out. So I’m gonna say no. I’ve accidentally done it once, like on stage, you know, if an outfit like accidentally breaks or something. That’s happened to me a few times, actually, because sometimes I get so excited on stage, and I dance around and stuff, and then it’s look woop! And then I’m like aw, darn. But it was never on the bum scenario, it was more in the breasticle area. But we fixed that. Anyway, so, no is the answer.

Never have I ever posted something I regretted...

Yah. I feel like anyone that says no is a liar. It’s like, yes, you do because you also are a normal human being that likes to enjoy things and you want your friends to see it. And sometimes I forget that, you know, I have all these followers. But at the same time, I also want them to know that I’m Rita and I'm a real person. My favorite thing to do is to post my friends when they’re wasted, and then I’m like, uh oh, I shouldn’t have posted that. But it more sucks for them than it does for me, so…yah I have.
