Get your law degree, photographic memory, and mudding supplies in order, because there is a new show coming to the Suits franchise. (No, really, I raise my right hand and swear) On Thursday, Variety and Deadline confirmed that the show creator Aaron Korsh is colluding with NBCUniversal to create a new series, though it's in the early stages of development.

Although fans have become fond of the OG, the new series will not be a reboot, revival, or spin-off (God dammit, Donna!). In fact, the new project will take place at a separate firm in a different location with a whole new set of characters. Although, one can only hope for a few court appearances from the characters we've come to know and love from Harvey and Donna to Louis, Mike, and of course, Rachel Zane (played by none other than Duchess of Sussex Meghan Markle).

Suits originally aired on USA Network from 2011 to 2019 starring Markle, Gabriel Macht, Patrick J. Adams, Rick Hoffman, Gina Torres, and Sarah Rafferty. The show followed brainiac and college dropout Mike Ross (Adams) whose genius and photographic memory impresses Harvey Specter (Macht), a top partner at a prestigious New York City law firm run by Jessica Pearson (Torres). Despite not having a law degree, Mike is hired by Harvey as his associate and protégé and the two go on to fight for the law while also breaking it.

In 2019, Korsh released a spinoff titled Pearson that followed Jessica's new political pursuits in Chicago, though the show was dropped after its first season.

Earlier this year, Suits landed on Netflix, introducing a whole new audience to the legal drama which led to a cultural resurgence. The show has gone on to break streaming records becoming the show with the most ever no. 1 appearances on Nielsen’s Streaming Top 10 chart.

Executive Producer Gene Klein recently spoke to TVLine about the series's newfound success. "I was surprised," he said. "I'm very proud of the show. I, obviously, had a sense when I found out it was coming to Netflix [that] it would probably get another burst of viewing and that kind of thing, but I did not think this would happen. The first time the [Nielsen] weekly Top 10 came out and the first three seasons were in there, I thought, 'Well, if everyone just keeps on watching, this is going to go on for a while because they'll keep on moving through the seasons,' and that's exactly what's happening. People are sticking with it. It’s lovely."
