Rimowa Celebrates 120 Years With a Crowd of Chic Frequent Flyers
Rimowa Celebrates 120 Years With a Grand Fete at 7 World Trade Center
Thirty-nine floors up 7 World Trade Center, Rimowa held a dinner for its 120th anniversary. Chic frequent flyers including Adwoa Aboah, Peter Dundas, and Heron Preston turned up to toast the luggage company’s birthday—some, probably, with an eye on collaborating. After all, the see-through polycarbonate case Virgil Abloh launched with Rimowa earlier this year sold out in 11 seconds flat, reported Hector Muelas, the chief brand officer.
LVMH took an 80 percent stake in the German brand two years ago. Alexandre Arnault, the young CEO, has been on a mission to modernize it ever since. Last night’s efforts included a personalized leather luggage tag for each guest, which were graffitied by the American artist Curtis Kulig with his signature “love me.”
