Rihanna Wears Glowy Makeup and Red Lipstick to Ocean’s 8 London Premiere
Hitting the red carpet for a record-breaking international movie premiere while wearing a beyond fierce makeup look? All in a day's work when you're Rihanna.
On June 13, the actor and singer attended the London premiere of Ocean's 8 wearing a Poiret dress, and what can only be described as the ultimate summer makeup look; the red lip, the top knot, the gleaming skin — it all works. And if you're wondering how to DIY the look for summer (and beyond), you're in luck.
According to a press release, Fenty Beauty's Global Makeup Artist Priscilla Ono achieved the radiant, fresh look by prepping Rih's skin with Pro Filt'r Instant Retouch Primer followed by the singer's shade of Pro Filt'r foundation, 340. Next, she used Match Stix Matte in Peach and Mocha to conceal and contour, respectively, before using some Killawatt highlighter in a deep rose gold shade as a blush. (Try Maybelline's Master Chrome Metallic Highlighter in Molten Peach for a similar effect at a drugstore price point.) Lastly, Priscilla highlighted Rihanna's cheekbones with a touch of pearly beige Killawatt, and set the entire look with some matte setting powder for a flawless finish.
For the lip, Priscilla used one of Rihanna's go-to shades, Mattemoiselle lipstick in Ma’Damn, a true bright red. (MAC's Ruby Woo and CoverGirl's Exhibitionist Lipstick in Worthy are some other great options.)
To no one's surprise, Rihanna's been seriously bringing her beauty A-game as of late — not that she ever doesn't. On June 6, Rih attended the New York City premiere of Ocean's 8 wearing a holographic, tonal purple makeup look that also hinted at possible new Fenty products to come. However, she's not just using beauty to make a statement on the red carpet; in the film, Rihanna was adamant about her character, Nine Ball, wearing her hair in locs — a style that celebrates and represents Caribbean culture: "We thought it would be strong," Rihanna's hairstylist Yusef Williams told Refinery29. "Her locs would maintain that tie to Africa. She'd keep her accent. She wasn't just going to be some American girl in this movie. Nine Ball is still a Caribbean girl that just happens to be in America."
