She chose to wear one of Saint Laurent’s voluminous Spring 2018 looks—a ruffled and ruched dress in magenta accented by layers of jewelry. From the coordinating diamond and ruby earrings adorning her ears to not one, but three blingy bracelets, she shined bright. Though ultimately, her dress proved as attention-grabbing as all those stones.

With its distinctive silhouette—oversized on top then tapering to a figure-hugging black skirt—the outfit was as dramatic as it gets and caused as big of a stir as it did when Anthony Vaccarello debuted it on his Eiffel Tower runway last October. For her part, Rihanna let the look carry her through one of her most important nights. Updating her Instagram earlier today with a glimpse at the festivities, she signaled that the best is yet to come, captioning her latest upload, “surrounded by the people I love most, 30 is already my favorite era!”
