We Finally Know the Name of Rihanna’s Baby (& the Special Meaning Behind It)

The name of Rihanna's son has finally been revealed, and so has the inspiration behind the name. (FYI she is also pregnant with her second child.)

People magazine recently obtained the baby’s birth certificate and confirmed that the 11-month-old’s name is RZA Athelston Mayers. The toddler’s moniker pays homage to a member of the famous hip-hop group, the Wu-Tang Clan.

Robert Fitzgerald Diggs, who goes by his stage name RZA (pronounced “Rizza”), is a rapper, producer and leader of the group.

It’s been almost a year since the fashion mogul, 35, and her 34-year-old boyfriend, A$AP Rocky, welcomed their first son together. The “Work” singer has not been shy about posting pics and vids of her baby boy on social media (including his Vogue cover debut).

Back in March, the Fenty Beauty founder shared a slideshow on Instagram featuring a picture of her son. In the pic, RZA (who looks just like his mom) is staring at the camera with a sad expression. In addition, there is a video that shows the little boy watching the music video to her Oscar-nominated song, “Lift Me Up.”

In the caption, RiRi wrote, “My son when he found out his sibling is going to the Oscars and not him.”
