Rihanna Rocks a Tongue Coated in Glitter for the October Cover of "Allure"

We already know that Fenty Beauty products are seriously versatile. In the past year, we've learned that Matchstix can be used on your lips, Gloss Bomb makes a great eyeshadow, and Killawatt highlighter can be used on more than just your cheeks. Clearly, Rihanna knows how to use makeup in unexpected places, and her latest cover takes things to a whole new level with makeup on her tongue.

The Bad Gal herself appears on the October cover of Allure's"Best of Beauty" issue, and one of the photos from her spread has her truly shining bright like a diamond. Her lids, lips, and tongue are all dusted with glitter, care of longtime makeup artist Priscilla Ono.

It remains to be seen whether "glitter tongues" might be the next big beauty trend, but it is beauty one look that you need to be careful with. The Instragram approved look was once popular in 2017, and as Allure previously pointed out, you should only use non-toxic, food-grade glitter or a vegan brand of glitter that's safe to touch the tongue.

Naturally, Rihanna's makeup wasn't the only part of her cover look worth wow-ing over: She also wore her hair in braids, and showed off eyeshadow that photographed blue when the light hit it. Get you a glitter that does both, TBH.

There's a good reason why the makeup mogul was chosen for the cover of Allure's "Best of Beauty" issue: Fenty Beauty won the magazine's prestigious "Beauty Breakthrough" award. "Launched a mere 13 months ago, Rihanna’s 40 shades of foundation changed the industry forever," wrote the magazine's Editor-in-Chief, Michelle Lee, in her Editor's Letter accompanying the issue. "... Nearly overnight, the paradigm had shifted. And if you weren’t riding the wave of inclusive beauty, you were being wiped out by the inevitable force of change."

In 2017, Fenty Beauty won Time Magazine's "Invention of the Year" for its 40-shade range, and it's clear that the well-deserved accolades for the brand and its truly game-changing ways won't be slowing down any time soon.

To copy Rihanna's glitzed-out look, try one of these glitter products on your lids and lips. (Just don't pull a Rihanna and put it on your tongue, just in case.)
