Rihanna Is Queen of the 2018 Met Gala

From ELLE

All hail Rihanna, 2018 Met Gala honorary co-chair and a woman who brought her A-game to the night's theme, Heavenly Bodies: Fashion and the Catholic Imagination. Hail Mary full of grace, Robyn Rihanna Fenty is the Pope. Wearing what we can only imagine was hand crafted by carpenter Jesus Christ himself, the Badgal came in a full white bejeweled crown and cloak.

She didn't bring her billionaire boyfriend Hassan Jameel as her date.

Rihanna, of course, doesn't play at these galas. She's a regular attendee and fully commits to each year's theme. In 2017, she wore Comme des Garcons to the Rei Kawakubo/Comme des Garcons: Art Of The In-Between themed gala with the kind of confidence to which we can all aspire:

In 2015, she wore perhaps one of the longest trains ever at the Met Gala for its China: Through The Looking Glass theme:

At the 2014 gala, she made the long-sleeve crop top look Cinderella-ready for a ball for its romantic Charles James: Beyond Fashion theme:

In 2012, she made a black snakeskin dress look delicate and ladylike for the gala's Schiaparelli And Prada: Impossible Conversations theme:

The 2011 Met Gala's Alexander McQueen: Savage Beauty theme got RiRi's lace, practically-sideless dress take:

And RiRi's first two Met Galas feature her wearing a black tux in 2009 (The Model As Muse was the night's theme) and a white ethereal dress in 2007 with edgy black lace gloves (Poiret: King Of Fashion was the theme):
