Rihanna’s Makeup Artist Reveals Which Fenty Beauty Products She Wore to the Grammys

Rihanna wore Fenty Beauty to the 2018 Grammy Awards for both her acceptance speech and her performance.

There were plenty of gorgeous beauty looks on the 2018 Grammy Awards red carpet on Sunday night, as stars showed up to see who'd take home the music industry's highest honors. However, Rihanna didn't need to walk the red carpet to make a major impact — she had not one but two stunning beauty moments during the awards ceremony, even though she skipped the photo op.

Priscilla Ono, the global makeup artist for Fenty Beauty, was kind enough to talk to Allure about both of the looks Rihanna wore during the Grammys. She says she and Rihanna collaborated on both looks and they were inspired by the '70s. While her makeup for her acceptance speech was meant to be a little more monochrome — due to the moment itself and her outfit — the performance look was really about complimentary colors.

If you're interested in attempting to recreate that Rihanna glow, pay close attention, as Ono also detailed exactly how she created each look, exclusively using Rihanna's Fenty Beauty products (well, duh).

First, she outlined how she created the look Rihanna wore onstage to accept the award for Best Rap/Sung Collaboration with Kendrick Lamar: She started by creating a base with Pro Filt'r Soft Matte Longwear Foundation in 330, followed by light layers of shade 300 and Match Stix Matte Skinstick in Peach to conceal specific spots.

To contour, Ono then broke out the Fenty Beauty Match Stix in Mocha, which is a few shades deeper than Rihanna's natural complexion. For a lit-from-within glow, she blended Match Stix Shimmer Skinstick in Chili Mango on the apples of Rihanna's cheeks, followed by layers of Killawatt Freestyle Highlighter in Girl Next Door on all the high points of her face to finish the highlight.

Ono then created depth on Rih's eyes by buffing the Match Stix Matte Skinstick in Mocha and Espresso shades on her lids before finishing off the look off with some Mattemoiselle Plush Matte Lipstick in Shawty on her lips — followed, of course, by Gloss Bomb Universal Lip Luminizer.

For Rihanna's performance look, Ono only had twenty minutes to switch up her makeup, so she kept everything pretty much the same, except she used the Pro Filt’r Instant Retouch Primer beforehand to make sure she'd be flawless on stage under all those lights. She also added Match Stix Shimmer Skinstick in Ridiiic and Killawatt Freestyle Highlighter in Hu$tla Baby to ensure Rihanna's highlight stood out against the color of her dress. As a final step, Ono used Invisimatte Blotting Powder to help Rihanna achieve that flawless Fenty face. In fact, Ono says Rihanna carries it wherever she goes — it's basically her secret weapon.
