Rihanna Got Into a Scooter Accident—but She’s ‘Completely Fine’ Now

Don’t worry, Rihanna suffered only minor injuries after getting into an electric scooter accident last week.

Over the weekend the Fenty Beauty founder made headlines—but not for finally releasing her highly anticipated new album or launching another groundbreaking brand. Instead, TMZ published multiple photos of Rihanna with visible bruises on her forehead and under her eye while ordering food at Giorgio Baldi in Santa Monica, California, on Friday, September 4.

According to the outlet, the “Wild Thoughts” singer, who wore sunglasses, tried to keep a low profile as the restaurant staff brought out her food and a glass of wine to her car. However, when she removed the sunnies, paparazzi captured images of her obvious injuries.

Following speculation on social media, Rihanna’s rep confirmed her injuries were the result of a scooter incident. “Rihanna is completely fine now but flipped over on an electric scooter last week and bruised her forehead and face,” they said in a statement, according to People. “Luckily, there were no major injuries and she is healing quickly.”

As for that long-awaited new record, there’s still not word on when she’s dropping it, but Rihanna previously told Vogue she’s making a reggae album. “Reggae always feels right to me. It’s in my blood,” she explained during an interview in 2019. “It doesn’t matter how far or long removed I am from that culture, or my environment that I grew up in; it never leaves.”

“It’s always the same high,” she added. “Even though I’ve explored other genres of music, it was time to go back to something that I haven’t really homed in on completely for a body of work.”

In August 2020, Rihanna trolled her fans who’ve been asking about the album after a video of her doppelgänger went viral on TikTok

“Where the album sis?” she replied. What a queen.
