Rihanna’s First Selfie of the Decade Featured No Makeup and a Proud Pimple
Is there a better way to start off the decade than with a gorgeous selfie from Rihanna? Well, okay, maybe an album would have been better but still! On Monday, January 6, Rihanna kicked off 2020 with an Instagram selfie that showed off her beauty.
Rihanna posted the bare-faced selfie on Instagram writing, "first selfie of the year doe. #2020." With no Fenty Beauty products in sight, Rih showed off her radiant skin and braids. Many were quick to share love for the photo on social but, of course, the trolls soon arrived to try and make the moment negative. (Emphasis on "try.")
Amidst RiRi's radiant skin was one single, tiny pimple. The pimple was hardly noticeable (and very irrelevant) but some found the need to point it out. "Let me pop your pimple," wrote one user, per Cosmopolitan UK. "Really bold of u to post a selfie and not a link to the album. U deserve that pimple," another said, while a third user wrote, "The fact that the pimple heard the album and we didn't."
As expected, Rihanna wasn't having any pimple-bashing, so she clapped back with a simple yet poignant comment. “Let her have her shine, PLEASE,” the beauty mogul responded, as noted by IG account Comments by Celebs. And, honestly, we couldn't have said it better ourselves!
Trolls will always have something to say, but Rihanna will keep showing them why you should never mess with her. And while we're all for Rih living her best life, the selfie does leave us with one big question — and no, it's not about the album. Rih, if you're reading this, when we are getting that Fenty skincare line? The public wants serums!
