In January, reports surfaced that Rihanna and her boyfriend of three years, Hassan Jameel, had broken up. The singer, who has her fans on pins and needles about her upcoming album, R9, has had a very productive year so far when it comes to her work, and she seems pretty focused on that right now. With that in mind, it makes sense that Rihanna's Valentine's Day plans involve creating new music.

While debuting her new Fenty collection at Bergdorf Goodman in New York City on Friday night, the fashion mogul and musician told New York magazine's the Cut that she's already got her February 14 all figured out.

"I’m going to be in the studio," she said. "I’m so excited actually. I can’t say who I’m working with, but it’s somebody I’ve been wanting to work with him for a long time." She gave up the secret on who, exactly, that somebody is: "Okay, I’ll tell you. [It’s] Pharrell."

This news isn't exactly a huge shock, because Pharrell let it slip over the summer. In July, he wrote "They ain't ready" in a comment on this post on her Instagram.

Fans immediately hopped on to the idea that these two would be making some music together, and they fully endorsed it.

The day her breakup was first in the news, Rihanna was at the 2020 Yams Day Benefit Concert in New York City, honoring hip-hop producer and founder of ASAP Mob, ASAP Yams, who died on January 18, 2015. Backstage, she hung out with A$AP Rocky, with whom she made the music video for his song "Fashion Killa" in 2013.

"Rihanna and A$AP are hanging out and hooking up," a source told Us on Thursday."They’re having fun and have always had chemistry."
