The long-awaited Rihanna documentary of our dreams is finally close to a reality. All the way back in 2015, Deadline reported that filmmaker Peter Berg would direct the film examining a "young artist at the top of her professional career." Berg, who gave Rihanna her acting start with a role in Battleship, described the documentary as an “unfiltered look into Rihanna’s life and how she’s ascended to become a global icon.”

The film was slated for release in 2017, following the creation of Rihanna's 2016 album Anti, but clearly hit some delays. Giving an update, Berg spoke with Slash Film and had nothing but praise for the singer. "I think she’s an extraordinary young woman and it really is kind of a pretty comprehensive profile of what goes in to making her this talent that she is," he said. "The work ethic, the talent, luck, the hustle, the vision."

He also gave an estimation for when we'll finally be able to see the film. "She’s a really, really interesting woman and the movie will be out in about a month and half, two months we’ll be able to start showing it."
