Thursday was a special day for Barbados' National Hero, Rihanna.

The multi-hyphenate marked her first holiday as a National Hero of her native country Barbados with a sweet Instagram post. She shared several photos from the Pride of the Nationhood ceremony where she received the honor last November, becoming the country's 11th National Hero and the second woman given the designation.

"My very first #NationalHeroesDay as a National Hero of my country Barbados! 🇧🇧🇧🇧🇧🇧" she wrote in the caption. "What an absolute honor to be amongst such great men and women who have come before me and held this title in commitment to our nation! I will forever cherish these memories and continue to represent the Bajan people and my home Barbados to the fullest!!"

"Love and gratitude to both The Prime Minister, The Honorable Mia Amor Mottley and our President, Her Excellency The Most Honorable Dame Sandra Mason for trusting me with this honor!" she added.

For the ceremony, which also marked Barbados' first presidential inauguration as a republican nation, the Fenty mogul wore an orange silk halter-top gown by Bottega Veneta. Along with the honor, the star also received the right to add 'The Right Honourable' before her name.

"On behalf of a grateful nation, but an even prouder people, we therefore present to you, the designee, for National Hero of Barbados, ambassador Robyn Rihanna Fenty," Prime Minister Mia Mottley told the pop star. "May you continue to shine like a diamond and continue to bring honor to your nation by your words, by your actions, and to do credit wherever you shall go."

The Anti singer recently spent time with her family in Barbados with her boyfriend A$AP Rocky, later returning to LA to throw a rave-themed baby shower. In a recent interview, the star discussed where she would like to raise her child, mentioning her home country as a "dream place."

"That gets difficult to say," she told the outlet. "Rocky asked me recently if I had a dream place, where would it be? I told him home, Barbados. I always imagined it being that way. But realistically it probably won’t be."
