Rider Suffers Violent Crash Down On New Hampshire's Tuckerman Ravine
A gnarly crash went viral on Instagram this week from New Hampshire area Tuckerman Ravine where a snowboarder essentially rag dolled down the bowl after a slip up earlier in the run. Luckily, this snowboarder was not alone.
This instance just goes to show the importance of snowboarding and being out in the mountains with a safety buddy, especially if you are not on the resort. One small miscalculation could have you totally lost, upside down, and violently tomahawking down the mountain.
When venturing into the mountains for snow sports, safety should always be a top priority. Before hitting the slopes, ensure you have the right equipment, including a helmet, avalanche beacon, and appropriate clothing. Stay aware of weather and avalanche conditions, and never venture into unfamiliar terrain alone. Keep a charged phone and a map, and inform others of your plans. Always follow the rules and guidelines of the mountain, and know your limits to avoid accidents and enjoy a safe and memorable experience. Make sure you have proper avalanche awareness.
