Richard Branson's Virgin Hotel San Francisco Is Now Accepting Reservations — Take a Look Inside

Richard Branson's Virgin Hotels is now accepting reservations for its new San Francisco outpost.

Those who are eager to check into the new Virgin Hotel San Francisco can make reservations today for stays starting from Nov. 15.

The hotel will be located in the SoMa (South of Market) neighborhood, close to the Yerba Buena Gardens. The newly-built hotel will have 192 rooms — or “chambers” as the hotel prefers to call them — and two penthouse suites.

New renderings show the hotel with the same sleek, red-accented vibe seen throughout the original Virgin Hotel in Chicago. One of the main features of the hotel is the flagship Commons Club, which transforms throughout the day to become a space for work, dining, or drinks. Guests will also be able to convene at the rooftop bar or the Funny Library coffee shop.

When guests book a hotel room for later this year, they can opt to book through a program called “The Know.” The program previously allowed guests to record their preferences, like what they'd like to see inside the mini bar, their allergies, or even their pets’ favorite treats. Now, with the revamped program, guests who book directly through The Know can receive up to a five-percent discount, room upgrades (based on availability), and access to a complimentary happy hour every night during their stay. The program will also reward loyal guests with new incentives.

The San Francisco hotel was originally scheduled to open in summer 2017, but was delayed to fall of this year. “San Francisco is always one of our primary target markets,” Virgin Hotels CEO Raul Leal told Travel + Leisure last year. “It’s kind of a natural fit for us. The neighborhood is growing and thriving. I think it’s the right timing and the right location for us.”

The very first Virgin Hotel opened in Chicago in 2015. The brand is entering a period of rapid expansion, with openings planned for Dallas, Nashville, New Orleans, New York City, D.C., Silicon Valley, Palm Springs, Las Vegas, and Edinburgh in the next two years.
