‘RHOM’ stars Alexia and Marysol tease unlikely drama to come on ‘RHUGT’ Season 3

It’s time for another girls’ trip!

The third season of Peacock’s hit crossover series Real Housewives Ultimate Girls Trip premiered on Thursday, bringing pairs from various Housewives franchises all the way to Thailand. The trip comes after three shows (Miami, Potomac, Salt Lake City) recently finished airing, meaning that the women from those shows brought in lingering issues from their seasons, making for obvious drama.

Alexia Echevarria and Marysol Patton are the best-friend duo from RHOM who come in on as good of terms as ever, though some observation and pot stirring from original Potomac cast member Gizelle Bryant leads to them excavating an unexpected point of tension between them later in the season.

For the latest episode of In The Know by Yahoo’s pop culture interview series We Should Talk, Alexia and Marysol opened up about their experience filming RHUGT and what it was like being able to break the fourth wall, and they discuss being on a reality show with women from other series and getting through some tension between them on the trip. They also talked about where things were left with former Real Housewives of New York star Leah McSweeney and what they hope for the future of The Real Housewives of Miami.

“Apparently we did [have something to work through], and Gizelle helped us get it out,” Alexia told In The Know. “It kind of carried over from the previous season [of RHOM], and I felt like a lot of us like Potomac, Salt Lake City and Miami had just wrapped up our seasons, so it kind of transferred on. Everybody came with a backstory. […] It was something you saw very quickly and was kind of brushed under the rug. We never really addressed it, but I guess it was something that was bothering us. We love each other so much, and we’re real friends.”

“We kept the peace and blew it off. We kept it going,” Marysol added. “It was Gizelle who started that. She picked up on some cues and then she helped bring it out, which in the end was great. We got it over with.”
