Rhea Perlman and Danny DeVito Have Officially Expanded Their Family

Rhea Perlman and Danny DeVito are officially grandparents.

The Cheers actress revealed that she and her estranged husband earned the titled after one of their children recently had a kid. She shared on the Wiser Than Me with Julia Louis-Dreyfus podcast, "It just happened seven weeks ago."

She continued, "It's amazing. Everybody said it'll change your life when you have a grandchild, and it does."

For those who may not know, Perlman and DeVito—who married in 1982 and then separated 2012, and then again in 2017 after a reconciliation—are the parents to three children: Lucy Chet DeVito, Grace Fan DeVito, and Jacob Daniel DeVito.

While she didn't specify which of her children expanded their brood, she did hint that it was one of her daughters, noting, "They kept the name DeVito even though she's married and her husband is not DeVito, but that's what they chose."

Perlman also shared that the grandchild is a baby girl, named Sinclair Lucille DeVito.

As for where Perlman, who said she wants to be called "Grandma Rhee Rhee," stands with her husband? She also shared on the podcast, "Danny and I, we are still married… and we are still very good friends and we see each other a lot. And our family is still the most important thing to both of us."

"I'm not gonna sugarcoat it, it was very difficult at first," Perlman said, recalling her split from her Matilda co-star. "And there were a lot of reasons that we separated… It took time for us to come to this somehow pretty decent understanding and relationship with each other."
