RH Opens Doors in Indianapolis, Munich and Düsseldorf

RH has been busy this month, opening doors on both sides of the Atlantic Ocean. The first, RH Indianapolis, opened up on the lakeside Palladian-style 151-acre property of late timeshare pioneer Christel DeHaan. DeHaan is said to have been one of the richest women in all of Indiana.

“It represents one of the largest, most inspiring and immersive physical expressions of the brand to date,” RH, the upscale U.S.-based furniture retailer (formerly known as Restoration Hardware) said in a statement. Over the past year, RH has been on a mission to create a curated world of luxury living, travel, dining and design services, as it forges on with its long-term expansion plans.

RH also made its debut in Germany with the opening of RH Düsseldorf, The Gallery on the Königsallee and RH Munich, The Gallery on Sendlinger Strasse. The new European RH sites integrate luxury home furnishings collections — from RH Interiors, Contemporary, Modern and Outdoor — with rare art, antiques and artifacts from across the world.

RH Düsseldorf is positioned on the northernmost end of the Königsallee — an upscale shopping promenade, adjacent to Galeria Düsseldorf and several premier fashion houses.

RH Munich, originally designed by German architect Max Littmann in 1905, is situated in the heart of the Old Town on Sendlinger Strasse, walking distance from Sendlinger Tor — one of three surviving city gates dating back to the 14th century.

RH Indianapolis boasts 60 rooms with RH’s luxury home furnishings collections, along with rare art, antiques and artifacts from across the world. It also boldly reflects the brand’s continued focus on hospitality, with its expansive restaurant The Dining Room, as well as a Wine Bar and Terrace, all of which open up onto the property’s 35-acre private lake and verdant grounds.

RH chairman and chief executive officer Gary Friedman said in a statement that the “DeHaan Estate is one of the most magical properties in North America.”

This year, Corte Madera, Calif.-based RH has been on a roll. In June, it unveiled one of RH’s most ambitious projects yet: RH England, The Gallery at Aynho Park — a 73-acre, 17th-century estate — a crown jewel in its strategy to become a globally recognized luxury brand with exclusive galleries, restaurants and lodging worldwide.

Based on its recent efforts, RH expects to top $3 billion in sales in 2023.
