Types of Packing Units

You have two options to choose from: a moving trailer or a ReloCube. The one you will want to select will depend on your preferences on flexibility, the amount of space you need, your budget, and more.

Moving Trailer

Flexibility is a major component of U-Pack's moving trailers. You only pay for the amount of space you take up with your belongings—not the rental cost of the entire trailer. U-Pack's moving trailers are 28' x 8' x 9', making them similar in size to a 26-foot moving truck plus a 10-foot rental truck.

U-Pack will drop off the trailer for you, so you don't need to pick it up. The trailers feature a ramp you can use for free that is easy to set up for ease of loading. A long divider wall also comes with the trailer, allowing you to secure your belongings once you've finished the loading process.

Storage

You can add storage to your trailer move, with pricing based on 30-day periods for every trailer stored. The storage units are not climate-controlled, but you can put your own lock on the trailer. It's important to note that you will not have access to your items in storage until they are delivered to your destination.

ReloCube

If you have a smaller space or don't have the parking space for a large moving truck, ReloCubes might be right for you. They can fit into a single parking space and are made of steel and aluminum for extra protection.

ReloCubes are 70" x 82" x 93", roughly 280 cubic feet. According to U-Pack, that is typically enough space to move everything from one large room. U-Pack will store your ReloCube until you're ready for delivery. Rates include costs for the driver and fuel.

Pros and Cons of U-Pack

U-Pack Cost

U-Pack can generate an instant online quote with basic information based on the origin of your move, your final destination, how soon you want to move, and the number of rooms in your existing home.

Quotes are based on trailers vs. ReloCubes and are further broken down by whether you want professional help to load or unload your belongings. Trailers' prices are judged by the amount of space you need to fully pack your items and not the full size of the trailer.

How to Schedule U-Pack

You can schedule your U-Pack moving service over the phone. Once you've finished loading your moving trailer or ReloCube—which must be done in three days—you will call your local U-Pack service center to pick it up. The distance between your origin and destination will dictate the number of transit days.

Once your shipment has arrived at a local service center in the area you're moving to, you can call the company to schedule a delivery appointment. When you've finished unloading, call the service center back to pick up the empty unit. U-Pack recommends calling one day in advance for pickup.

U-Pack Customer Reviews

U-Pack is accredited by the Better Business Bureau (BBB) and holds an A+ rating from the organization. It has hundreds of customer reviews, which are generally positive.

Here's what some previous U-Pack customers had to say:

"This experience with U-Pack was just what they said it was. Timely, responsive, polite, and prompt. It saved me a ton of money and the temporary inconvenience of having to do all the packing was well worth the savings. I would do it again!"

—Margaret E. via BBB

"The worst moving experience of my 70-year life. I was told when I contracted that my truck would arrive at its destination in 7-9 days. That was changed to 7-9 BUSINESS days. Today I have been waiting for my truck to arrive for 19 days and was advised today it will be another 4 to 7 days. I have accumulated over $1,500 in motel bills waiting for this truck to arrive and will spend another $600 - $700. U-Pack CANNOT even give me a date when the truck will arrive."

—Ed F. via BBB

Is U-Pack Best For You?

U-Pack is a great choice for customers interested in professional transportation of their items but want to handle packing, unpacking, loading, and unloading their personal belongings themselves. The moving service provides customers with a choice between large moving trailers and ReloCubes, as well as optional storage if you need it. Some people may feel crunched for time with only three days to load their belongings, while that will be more than enough time for others.
