The Tovala Smart Oven Starter Kit comes with everything you need to get started. All you have to do is select a meal plan and choose how many meals you’d like to be delivered weekly. Once your meals arrive, all you need is 60 seconds to assemble everything and place it into the Tovala smart oven. Scan the barcode and let the oven cook each meal in twenty minutes or less.

What We Liked About The Tovala Smart Oven and Meal Plan
Right out of the box, the Tovala oven was simple to set up and use. It needed to be connected to WiFi and registered to get started. The interior dimensions are generous, measuring 12.75″ (L) X 11″ (D) X 8″ (H), which Tovala’s website notes is large enough to fit a 4-pound chicken, 10″ pizza, or 4 Tovala Meal trays inside. This means you could potentially use it to make dinner for your entire family, in a flash.
The oven itself is reasonably priced. Though it has a retail cost of $299, you can get it right now for $99 with the code IMPOSSIBLE. Plus it comes with a 100-day trial with free, easy returns, which allows you to try it out for close to nothing if you’re still unsure.
With the oven, I received three meal kits: Lemon Glazed Salmon, Maple Glazed Chicken Breast with Broccoli, and Stuffed Shells. All were delicious and simple to prep and make. I’d have to say the Lemon Glazed Salmon was my favorite overall. In less than a minute, I was able to assemble all of the ingredients according to the directions and place them into the small trays that fit in the Tovala Smart Oven for cooking.

The meals came with straightforward directions on how to prep and cook with the ability to scan the meal card or start the oven from your smartphone (note: Your phone has to be on the same WiFi network).
After 13 minutes and 15 seconds exactly, the results were perfect. The salmon was cooked thoroughly without drying out or overcooking, the quinoa was soft and fluffy, and simply delicious.
Each week, you can select different meals, starting at $11.99 apiece, to be delivered to your door and the easy-use website allows you to set dietary restrictions as well as how many meals you’d like to receive with each delivery.
The Tovala oven also works with a number of brands found in your local grocery store, allowing you to simply scan the barcode to prepare them. SPY’s Managing Editor Barret Wertz says he uses his Tovala smart oven for just about everything and loves the results.
What We Didn’t Like About The Tovala Smart Oven And Meal Kit:
The Tovala oven lived up to every one of its claims and there is very little to complain about given its ability to cook with little to no hassle. However, the $12 and up price tag of each meal makes it a bit expensive to maintain the meal plan week after week. That said, the fact that the oven is on sale for $99 right now takes out the sting of pricey meals a bit.
The Verdict:
The Tovala Smart Oven and Meal Kit is a definite winner. As smart products continue to take over our homes, this item is certainly one to consider. Great for those that live alone, it offers one-person portions that eliminate waste, prep work, cooking, and clean-up. For families, it may be a bit more expensive to manage, but it’s still easy to prepare if you decide to splurge and purchase meals for your entire household.
