‘Rethink your Drink Day’ promotes drinking more water, ditching sweetened drinks

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KGET) — Bakersfield residents are invited to attend the free “Rethink Your Drink Day” community resource fair at Martin Luther King Jr. Park Saturday.

The event aims to educate the community to drink less sugar-sweetened drinks and instead drink more water and reap the health benefits of the process.

Benefits to ditching sweetened drinks include lowering the risk of diabetes, avoid obesity and heart disease. The event will run from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. May 11. MLK Jr. Park is located at 1000 S. Owens Street.
