June 27, 2019: Italian shoe brand Michele Lopriore has opened a pop-up shop in the Westfield World Trade Center mall in New York. The women’s label, based in Milan, has already seen success with its flagship store in Miami, prompting CEO Mike Lopriore (son of Michele Lopriore) to make the foray north. The brand also has six shops throughout Italy, in addition to wholesale accounts. The NYC pop-up will stock a variety of styles from the collection, which ranges in price from $139 for ballet flats to $425 for leather ankle boots.

June 26, 2019: After lots of teases, Olivier Rousteing’s new collection of Balmain sneakers is hitting stores, starting with a special Men’s Sneaker Customization space that debuted inside Selfridges in London on June 24. It was set up inside The Corner Shop (behind the department store’s Oxford Street windows) and features a futuristic mirrored metallic surfaces that amplify the label’s forward-looking aesthetic. A number of artists will be customizing the sneakers, taking inspiration from recent Balmain themes, such as graffiti and Japanese graphics. The brand will continue to introduce other limited-edition sneaker styles in the coming months, through partnerships with more retailers.

June 20, 2019: Virgil Abloh is opening his first West Coast Off-White location at the Wynn Plaza in Las Vegas. The store is slated to launch in July. Wynn Plaza is also home to the “Arrows and Flower Neon Sign,” a multimedia sculpture created by Takashi Murakami and Virgil Abloh, which debuted last year. The 9-foot-tall kinetic neon sign blends the arrow logo of Abloh’s Off-White brand with Murakami’s distinctive rainbow flower and is on display among the shops. In addition, the designer has signed a DJ residency through 2019 at the Wynn Plaza’s XS Nightclub and Encore Beach Club.

June 18, 2019: Artsy footwear brand United Nude, known for its architectural silhouettes, has launched a pop-up shop at L.A.’s Beverly Center shopping plaza for summer. It’s the only U.S. outpost for the label, which is offering its 2019 spring collection at the new digs. Included among the product selections are United Nude’s collaborative pieces with Lady Gaga, Zaha Hadid, Issey Miyake and Iris Van Herpen.

June 18, 2019: Brazilian brand Schutz has opened its first New Jersey store location inside The Mall at Shorthills, a move that marks a continuation of parent company Arezzo & Co.’s U.S. expansion. The 1,800-square-foot shop is located on the second floor of the luxury mall. CEO Alexandre Birman launched Arezzo’s new corporate headquarters in North America earlier this month at 625 Madison Ave. in New York. Recent expansion efforts have included the launch of a Schutz store at Westfield San Francisco, and Birman will also open his eponymous brand’s newest flagship in Dallas come August.

June 11, 2019: The Webster, a luxury multibrand retailer, has partnered with Rihanna’s Fenty brand for its first U.S. pop-up experience. Fenty will take over two floors of the iconic Cast Iron building at 29 Greene St. in New York’s SoHo neighborhood, June 19–30. Laure Heriard-Dubreuil, founder and creative director of The Webster, said, “I am so proud and honored that Rihanna and her team choose to launch the new Fenty release with The Webster SoHo. She has an incredible personality and style, and is the true epitome of a powerful woman.” The Webster, which was first established in Miami’s South Beach District, now operates stores in New York; Houston; Costa Mesa, Calif.; South Beach and Bal Harbour, Fla.

June 6, 2019: This weekend, Saint Laurent will unveil two new store locations: one on Rodeo Drive in Los Angeles and the other in Paris, in the sprawling space previously occupied by Colette. The Paris flagship, to be called Saint Laurent Rive Droite, represents a departure for the luxury fashion house and creative director Anthony Vaccarello, who told WWD, “The idea was to propose a larger vision of Saint Laurent beyond the clothes, accessories and campaigns.” In addition to the label’s men’s and women’s ready-to-wear and footwear, the Paris store will feature exclusive collaborations, rare books and gadgets, as well as a coffee counter and club/event space.

June 6, 2019: After hosting a pop-up shop in New York in January, Louis Vuitton is now taking up residence in Chicago for a month to show off looks from Virgil Abloh’s fall ’19 men’s collection for the luxury brand. The shop, set to be open June 8 to July 7, will be housed at 110 W. Randolph St. in the city’s West Loop, and in close proximity to The Museum of Contemporary Art, which is showing Abloh’s “Figures of Speech” exhibition from June 10 to Sept. 22. In addition to styles from the fall line, the shop also will feature a limited-edition series of all-orange sneakers, apparel and accessories.

June 4, 2019: London retail icon Browns is turning 50 next year, and to mark the occasion it’s getting a new set of digs. The company, which was acquired by Farfetch in 2015, announced that it will relocate its flagship from South Molton Street to a nearby space at 39 Brook St. The move, which happens in summer 2020, will see the retailer occupy a four-floor space created by architecture firm Dimorestudio. Holli Rogers, CEO of Browns and CFO of Farfetch, said in a statement, “It was important that we stayed in the heart of Mayfair, bringing our clients on this exciting journey, whilst honoring the path we’ve been on and looking to the future of Browns as a pioneer of luxury multibrand retail with a technology viewpoint.”
