What restaurants closed in 2023? Here's our list for Westchester, Rockland

Whether it's due to an owner retiring, poor sales or a lost lease, it's always sad to see a neighborhood dining establishment close. This year's closings are on par with industry norms and are exactly aligned with how many closed in 2022. We counted 52 in Westchester and Rockland — one more than last year

The losses of 2023 include a beloved family-run Italian spot, a cozy general store/tea room, a long time ice cream shop, a summertime waterfront destination and a popular "dive bar." Our list of 2023 restaurant closings follows. If you notice one we missed, please email JRMuchnick@gannett.com.
