Restaurant inspections: Indio spot receives 'B'; facility reopens after roach infestation
Most Coachella Valley restaurants aced their health inspections this week, except for one Indio location that receive a "B" grade, according to reports conducted March 8 through 14.
The Cafe at Shields did not have any major violations, but it racked up enough minor violations to earn a score of 83 out of 100. The restaurant will have an opportunity to raise its score during a reinspection on March 19.
Best Sushi & Grill in Desert Hot Springs briefly closed this week due to a roach infestation and improper handwashing and warewashing techniques. However, the restaurant reopened following a reinspection.
Major violations pose an imminent risk to public health and warrant the immediate closure of a food facility or immediate correction, while minor violations do not pose an imminent public health risk, but do warrant correction.
