Resourceful Mom Creates Dog-Friendly Gummies After Pup Tries to Eat Gummy Bears

If your pup is anything like mine, they probably beg for a bite of your food even though they've eaten every last drop of theirs. It's just what dogs do! It can be tempting to share just about everything on your plate, but one dog mom has an even better idea.

When Cedric the Dachshund--AKA @thecedlife--expressed interest in his mom's gummy bears, she made him his own! This candy-inspired DIY dog treat she shared on August 16 is just too cute, and it's even easier to make from your kitchen.

OMG--these are too cute! I'm genuinely surprised about how easy-to-find this recipe's ingredients are. The vegetable powders that this dog mom uses for flavor and color may not be in your local grocery store, but you can order them online within minutes. Alternatively, you can create your own fruit or veggie powder by blending fresh produce with the 2.5 tablespoons of bone broth before heating.

Once your powder is blended, you can heat up the flavor and bone broth until it's almost boiling. While the water heats up, combine one tablespoon of gelatin with 2.5 tablespoons of cold water in a bowl. When the broth mixture is hot, pour it into the bowl with the gelatin mixture and stir to combine. Then, pour them into your gummy bear (or any shape) mold.

Sounds easy enough, right? It's just like making Jell-O! The hardest part will be waiting 4 hours for the concoction to set, but watching your pup enjoy a yummy dog treat will be well worth it.

Treats for dogs work in a similar way as candy does for people. These yummy morsels are meant to be enjoyed in moderation! Treats are not substitutes for a meal, though they can be a great meal addition every once in a while too.
