Rescued Lab Beagle's First Time Playing in Snow Brings All the Feels

A Beagle puppy recently rescued from an animal testing laboratory is loving every minute of freedom. The poor little guy couldn't help but frolic in his very first snowstorm. And the whole thing was caught on camera.

Reggie is an animal testing survivor and has been living the good life every since getting adopted and moving to his forever home.

The first snow of the season can be such a happy day for most dogs. But Reggie has an extra-special reason for celebrating. This was his first snowfall since getting rescued. And he was going to enjoy every moment of it.

The clip from the Beagle Freedom Project (BFP) shows the pup leaping around his snow-covered yard. His tail is wagging so fast! It's like he can't even take in all of the wintery goodness. He pauses several times before making his next move. "What is all this white stuff?" he's probably thinking, before leaping high into another snow pile.

Every dog deserves to have a moment like this. And with help from people like you it is possible.

How to Support the Beagle Freedom Project

If Reggie's story has touched your heart, there are several ways to support the Beagle Freedom Project. The non-profit organization works to match families with animals rescued from conditions of animal cruelty. BFP rescues, rehabilitates, and re-homes these poor puppers and then gets them somewhere safe.

On their website, the organization shared some of their tips for anyone who wants to help their cause. One of the simplest things one can do is live a cruelty-free lifestyle and not support any companies that test on animals. An app like the Cruelty Cutter is easy to use and allows you to scan any products bar code to see if they are cruelty free.

The next step would be to sign up be a foster home or to adopt one of BPE's animals. These dogs need a new home – fast. And BPE needs to be able to quickly get them to a new home once they've been saved.

Becoming an advocate for BPE or sharing the stories of animal testing survivors is also so, so important. The organization is hoping to get the Beagle Freedom Bill, a piece of legislation that mandates all healthy dog and cat survivors of research experiments must be put up for public adoption, passed across the nation. It has already been passed in California, Nevada, Minnesota, Illinois, New York, and Connecticut.

Finally, making a donation to the organization is also a good way to lend a hand. These Beagles deserve to live a good life. These are all good ways to give them a brand new start.
