Rescued Bichon Frise Enjoying the Sunshine After a Lifetime in a Cage Is Beautiful
She's up for adoption in Colorado!
Alexis the Bichon Frise is a 5-year-old rescue dog who's ready to live the rest of her life in the sunshine. She spent her younger years cooped up in a cage, so her rescuers are making sure she has all the space, care, and love that she needs to thrive. All that's left is to find her a forever family who's just as committed to her care!
She was rescued late in February by the National Mill Dog Rescue in Payton, Colorado. Her biography notes that she's 'very shy,' but we know that she'll come out of her shell with enough time and love.

Aww! We are so happy for you, Alexis! Every dog deserves to sunbathe to their heart's content, and now you get to do it, too. One day, you'll even feel safe enough to lie down and take a cozy nap in the sunshine.

Whether she keeps her puppy cut or grows out her curly coat, Alexis will always be an absolutely gorgeous dog. Her forever owner is going to have to keep up with her grooming appointments--that's for sure!
But that's a small sacrifice in the name of love. When you find that dog who you love more than life itself--you'd do absolutely anything for them. Alexis just might be your perfect pup if you have an enclosed yard with a 4-foot fence, another small dog to help show her the ropes, and a lot of patience for her adjustment period. She's never had the chance to be a true dog until now, and she deserves the best support system she can get!
