Rescue Teams Hailed As Heroes for Saving Cats After Earthquakes in Turkey

The loss of life, both human and animal, is devastating.

The latest reports after the horrific earthquakes in Turkey and Syria are that over 19,000 people have been killed. Search and rescue workers have been working tirelessly to save as many lives as possible. In addition to saving humans, workers have also been discovering cats under the rubble.

It's common knowledge that the kind people of Turkey are amazingly wonderful to their feral cat population, and residents place food and water bowls outside their homes for the millions of street cats who live there. It isn't surprising that every cat rescued after these horrible disasters is being praised as a miracle.

In another video, a university student in the process of being saved asked rescue workers to save his cat before pulling him out.

Despite how absolutely horrible this tragedy is, these posts just show how truly wonderful people are doing everything they can to rescue people and animals. Our thoughts are with the people of Turkey and Syria and all the brave heroes working to rescue those there.

Here's how to help the organizations that are aiding the rescue and recovery efforts in Turkey and Syria.
