Rescue Introduces 'Forgotten' Dogs of Ukraine Who Are Awaiting Loving Homes

They're currently being cared for in Romania.

Wartime heroes aren't just first responders and military service members. People from all walks of life are capable of making a difference in their communities and beyond, whether they're offering aid or changing the world.

War Paws is an animal rescue that aims to help 'the forgotten animals of war' through rescue, donations, and education. In a recent video on their TikTok account, @war_paws_iraq, their Romanian heroes introduce the 76 Ukrainian rescue dogs who are currently in their care.

Wow, we can't imagine what the last year or so has been like for these animals. It breaks our hearts to see them in need of loving homes, but we're also so grateful they've been rescued. War Paws' volunteers are heroes for getting these dogs all the way to Romania!

"You really did take care of those babies while their parents are gone," wrote commenter @nicolegpimentel. "They all look so happy and healthy." We couldn't agree more! It makes us smile to see these pups running around the yard together and getting affection from their human companions. These animals are safe, healthy, and happy-- and that's what's most important.

@Cassiemogford added, "those Akitas look so special!!" Those two caught our eye too, so it's nice to see them getting the attention they deserve. Even so, we had no idea just how special they truly are!

"Their names are Rada and Hoshi," War Paws replied. "Rada was born blind and really relies on her sister Hoshi. They are gentle giants." That's beyond precious! Dogs are oh-so-special, and we know these Ukrainian canines are going to find the forever homes they deserve.
