Dallas Mavericks fans might be able to breathe a sigh of relief Thursday night. After missing just four games, star guard Luka Doncic might make his return against the San Antonio Spurs, according to Tim MacMahon of ESPN.

Doncic sprained his right ankle during a Dec. 13 game against the Miami Heat. He was initially expected to miss a few weeks. If Doncic returns Thursday, he will have missed just 11 days due to the injury.

Despite playing some fearsome opponents, the Mavericks were able to hold their own without Doncic. The team went 2-2 with Doncic sidelined, beating both the Milwaukee Bucks and Philadelphia 76ers. The Mavericks lost to the Boston Celtics and Toronto Raptors while Doncic was out.

After a fantastic debut season, Doncic has taken his game to another level this year. He’s averaging 29.3 points and 8.9 assists per game.

The Mavericks are 19-10, and sit in fifth place in the Western Conference, thanks to Doncic’s strong play.
