Report: Jeremy Lane told cops 'I was more high than anything' during DUI arrest

Seahawks cornerback Jeremy Lane was arrested early Sunday after a traffic stop outside of Seattle and charged with driving under the influence.

He took to Twitter to defend himself, claiming that his breathalyzer test came in well under the legal limit for driving in Washington in a post that has since been deleted.

“A fail DUI is 0.08 right? I blew 0.03 why was still arrest !!! I’ll Leave it at that,” Lane’s tweet read.

TMZ reported on Tuesday that they obtained details of the arrest and that there was more than alcohol involved in his DUI, according to a police report.

Police could smell marijuana coming from Lane’s 2006 Dodge Charger after they pulled him over for driving 80 mph in a 60 mph zone, and Lane admitted to smoking three hours prior to the arrest, according to the report.

“This time I was more high than anything,” Lane reportedly told the police.

The report also states that Lane registered a .039 on his breathalyzer test.

While recreational marijuana is legal in Washington, driving under the influence is still a crime. Washington law states that a person can be charged with DUI if he “is found to be driving a vehicle under the influence or affected by alcohol, any drug, or a combination of alcohol and drugs, regardless of the concentration of alcohol in their breath or blood.”

Lane, who has played all six of his NFL seasons as a nickel back and starting cornerback with the Seahawks, is likely facing punishment from the NFL in addition to whatever legal troubles he faces.
