The Bush family, the closest thing America has to a Republican political dynasty, is divided when it comes to Trump.

Former President George W. Bush made headlines earlier this week after sources told the New York Times that he does not support the re-election of Donald Trump. The same Times story also reported that Bush's brother Jeb, who ran against Trump in the 2016 Republic primary, has yet to decide how he will vote.

"Former President George W. Bush won’t support the re-election of Mr. Trump, and Jeb Bush isn’t sure how he’ll vote, say people familiar with their thinking," wrote journalist Jonathan Martin in the piece, which mentions several other high profile Republicans—including Senator Mitt Romney and Cindy McCain, the widow of Senator John McCain—who are unlikely to back their party's leader in November.

It should be noted that the Times's sources remained anonymous and George W. Bush's spokesperson, Freddy Ford, said the story was “completely made up.”

But, Bush did leave his ballot blank in 2016, and before he died, former President George H.W. Bush confirmed that he had voted for Hilary Clinton.

Only one member of the Bush family has publicly endorsed the current president. George P. Bush, the oldest child of Jeb and a nephew of George W., firmly supports the current President is his campaign to sit a second term.

“President Trump is the only thing standing between America and socialism,” the younger Bush told the Dallas Morning News this week, while also confirming that he does plan to formally endorse Trump at some point in the future.
