Since I keep an open-door policy with shoes — which is why my closet is overflowing with women’s boots, sneakers, sandals, and heels — I didn’t go into it with preconceived notions. However, upon first taking them out of the box and putting them on my feet, I was a bit skeptical about how and when I would wear them.
