"Renovation Island" Star Bryan Baeumler Celebrates Birthday on Island With His Favorite Chocolate

From House Beautiful

On Sunday's latest episode of HGTV's Renovation Island, time is ticking as Sarah and Byran Baeumler approach the end of renovations and the beginning of building a successful business. However, Sarah puts the project on pause and gathers the kids to celebrate a very special day— Bryan's birthday!

Bryan, who was turning 45, didn't seem to be exactly thrilled about the occasion. "Can't I just lay in bed and complain my back hurts?" he says to Sarah as they sit on the porch. But seconds later the kids surprise their dad with presents. Even Quintyn, who attends a boarding school off the island, returned to celebrate his Dad's big day.

Despite being hundreds of miles from their home in Canada, the kids were able to have a special box of chocolates imported from Vancouver. Bryan explains he gets this same box of this chocolate every year, joking that most of it usually goes to the kids anyway. Luckily, he managed to snag a bite before the kids helped themselves.

The legendary chocolate the Baulmer family is obsessed with is from Canadian chocolatier Purdy's. The select box that the kids get Bryan each year is called Hedgehogs. According to the chocolate's description, each piece, or rather Hedgehog, contains a creamy, extra-nutty hazelnut gianduja filling inside a milk chocolate shell. We can sure see why the family had it imported all the way to the Bahamas. You can buy your own here.
